"He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives..." — Isaiah 61:1
Renew is a short-term housing and life-development program for single mothers — equipping families with the tools, training, and spiritual foundation to step confidently into a sustainable future.
Renew is a structured, faith-grounded program designed to walk alongside single mothers through the practical and personal work of becoming fully independent. We believe that real transformation — the kind that lasts — happens when the whole person is supported: practically, emotionally, and spiritually.
Above all, we believe that every woman who walks through our doors deserves to hear the Gospel — and to encounter the God who makes all things new.
An initial orientation period (~3 months) focused on establishing trust, identifying goals, and building the foundation for meaningful progress. Needs are assessed and a personalized plan is developed alongside our staff.
The core development phase — pursuing education or job training, building healthy financial habits, growing relationally, and engaging with counseling. Staff meet regularly to review progress and adjust goals.
As the program concludes, residents are working, saving, and living with confidence. This phase transitions families fully into their own home — stable, equipped, and not looking back.
Every service we provide is offered at no cost to participants and is designed to produce lasting, not just temporary, change.
At the heart of Renew is the Good News of Jesus Christ. Participants are invited to explore the Gospel through weekly group sessions, one-on-one conversations, and connection with a local congregation. No background required — only an open heart.
Furnished, safe apartment housing is provided at no cost for the duration of the program. Utilities, access to a food pantry, and assistance with transportation and childcare ensure families can focus on what matters most.
We work with each resident to identify and pursue a vocational path that fits their gifts and goals — whether that's completing a degree, earning a trade certification, or entering workforce training in a high-demand field.
Participants complete structured budgeting courses and work with staff to address existing debt, develop saving habits, and build a personal financial plan. Residents are expected to save at least 30% of income throughout the program.
Every resident is connected with a licensed, Christian-based therapist. Individual and family therapy options are available to address trauma, parenting challenges, conflict resolution, and emotional health.
Weekly group sessions cover practical life topics including parenting strategies, healthy communication, self-advocacy, meal planning, medical literacy, and community resources — building the whole person, not just the resume.
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest."
— Matthew 11:28
Renew exists because we believe the Gospel is the most powerful force for transformation in a person's life. Every service we offer — the housing, the training, the counseling — is an expression of that belief. We don't just want to help women survive. We want to introduce them to the One who makes them truly new.
Before Renew, I didn't know how to even look at my finances without panicking. Now I have a budget, a savings account, and a job I'm proud of. But more than that — I found faith I didn't know I needed.
I came in thinking I just needed a place to stay. I left with a career path, my GED, and a relationship with God I didn't expect. Renew changed everything for me and my kids.
The counseling helped me finally deal with things I had buried for years. The staff didn't just check boxes — they actually cared. I've never felt that kind of support before.
